New Delhi: Speaking on the Pathankot terror attack, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar today said those “who have harmed us will feel the pain.”
“The time and place will be of our choosing,” Mr Parrikar said at a seminar.
The minister said unless the same kind of pain is inflicted on the enemy, it will keep inflicting pain on the country.
Seven military personnel were martyred and another 20 injured when six terrorists crossed the border and launched the massive attack on the air base in Punjab’s Pathankot in the early hours of January 2, Saturday.
India says the Pakistan-based terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed orchestrated the assault.
The attack came just a week after PM Modi made an unscheduled visit to Lahore and met Nawaz Sharif. After the attack, the PM conveyed to Mr Sharif that India wants to see urgent action.
Evidence handed over by India to Pakistan includes intercepts of phone calls made by the terrorists to their handlers in Pakistan. Ammunition and other equipment recovered from them after they were killed were made in Pakistan.
