Chitral, Kalam, Malamjabba, Dir, Swat, Kaghan, Naran, Shangla, Murree, Gillyat, Neelum valley, Skardu, Bagh, Haveli, Astore, Ghizer on Friday received snowfall and become the centre of attraction for tourists at the weekend.
A large number of tourists visited Murree to enjoy the beautiful snowy hills. The resorts including Bhurban, New Murree, Kashmir Point, Mall Road and Ayubia Galyaat were packed with tourists.
A spokesperson of Met Office said that widespread rain with snowfall over the hills is expected in Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, Mardan divisions, FATA, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Lahore, Faisalabad, Sahiwal divisions, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.
Rain is expected at scattered places in Bannu, D.I.Khan divisions, north Balochistan Quetta, Kalat, Zhob, Sibbi divisions while Isolated light rain is also likely in D.G. Khan, Multan Bahawalpur and Sukkur divisions. The spokesman said the rain spell will continue in the next 24 hours.
More snowfall is also expected in Murree. He said that the rain will have salutary impact on the wheat crop. He said that due to widespread rain in Malakand, Hazara divisions and Kashmir there is a risk of landsliding in the vulnerable areas during the period.
