Saudi Arabia lauds Pakistan’s counter-terrorism efforts

RAWALPINDI: Saudi Foreign Minister Adel Bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir held a meeting with Army Chief General Raheel Sharif in Rawalpindi on Thursday.

They discussed regional security situation.

The Saudi foreign minister lauded Pakistan’s phenomenal successes in fight against terrorism and efforts towards regional stability.

Earlier, Prime Minister’s Adviser on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz received the distinguished guest at the airport.

He will also hold a meeting with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif where the situation in the Middle East following Saudi’s estranged ties with Iran is expected to come under discussion.

Pakistan has been urging restraint to both Saudi Arabia and Iran, in the wake of escalating tension between the two countries, following the execution of Saudi national Sheikh Nimr Al-Nimr and the consequent torching of the Saudi embassy by a mob in Tehran.
