Only 27 reports for Pakistan Open Hockey trials

KARACHI: Only 27 players from Sindh and Balochistan reported for Pakistan open trials which began here at the Hockey Club of Pakistan Stadium on Friday.

After poor and lukewarm response from the players, Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) extended the trials for one-day.

“Yes only 27 players turn-up for trials including 18 from interior of Sindh,” Selector Olympian Wasim Firoze told reporters.

He said only eight players from Karachi appeared in the trials and three from Balochistan.

PHF is holding the open trials to increase the spectrum of players at the national level.

Similaar trials will be conducted in Lahore and Peshawar and elsewhere for the trials.
