KARACHI: Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Siraj-ul-Haq on Wednesday said friendship with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi could not fortify the country, Aaj News reported.
“The government should take action against corrupt officers rather than selling government institutes,” he said while addressing Labourer Convention organized by Railways Prem Union in Karachi.
He said according to article 38 of the constitution it was responsibility of the government to provide employment, however institutes were being sold here forcing labourers and their children to starvation.
“The country will not be strengthened with friendship of Modi but with friendship of labourer,” he said.
Siraj said according to National Accountability Bureau corruption of Rs10 trillion was done in a year in the country. The government should take action against bribe-taking and corrupt officers rather than selling Pakistan International Airline, WAPDA and railways.
He said we did not accept dictation of World Bank and International Monitoring Fund and we were with the labourers.
