The APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Held Srinagar said, “Harassing people and detaining innocent civilians in the name of security arrangements is deplorable and
He said that the occupation authorities had given a free hand to Indian forces in various areas of Held Srinagar and other parts of the Held valley and they were committing
atrocities on civilians.
Firing teargas shells in densely-populated areas has resulted in a number of women falling unconscious, he added.
The spokesman said that there was no justification for the massive presence of Indian forces in Nowhatta and other areas of Srinagar.
In Azad Jammu and Kashmir, protest rallies and demonstrations in ten districts of the liberated territory were hallmark of the day against continued illegal Indian occupation.
The protest rallies were followed by processions held by various social, political and public representative organizations representing people of all spheres of life including lawyers, journalists, members of the business community, laborers, students and social and political workers, expressing their resolve to continue the Kashmir liberation struggle.
Meanwhile, APHC leader Abdul Aziz Dar in a statement issued in Srinagar said that when the Indian people were celebrating their Republic Day, the entire population of Held Kashmir was subjected to search operations, arrests, detentions and tortures and such acts exposed the real face of Indian democracy.
