KARACHI: Inspection and tagging of participating vehicles will done ahead of the qualifying rounds of third edition of Toyota offroad Hub Rally on Saturday morning organizers announced on Friday.
One-day qualifying rounds of the rally staged at specially designed track in Nooriabad followed by the main event on Sunday.
DG Rangers Sindh Maj.Gen. Bilal Akbar will be chief guest at the presentation and closing ceremonies.
“Hectic inspections of race inspectors will start at Totoya Highway Motors from Saturday 10 a.m.” chief organizers Shujaat Sherwani told reporters.
After inspections participants will be departing to Nooriabad to feature in the race.
“We would allow participants some time to practice on the track and before featuring in the qualifying rounds,” he emarked.
He said strict procedures will be followed as per the rally rules. Besides 100 drivers including 20 women , rally drivers from Japan and Turkey would be featuring in the race.
Japanese driver Hero Takahashi is Formula-A1 Champion having excellent track record internationally.
Hub Rally is emerging as third biggest event after Cholistan and Jhal Magsi Rally.
Toyota High Motors in collaboration with Sherwani Motors are holding the competition with international experts.
A 32-kilometer international standard off road track with rugged terrain including sandy muddy, rocky and mountainous area in Nooriabad has prepared for the exciting and adventurous race.
Event will be held in 4000, 3000, 2000, 1500, 1300 CC in Turbo contest of 1300 and 2000 CC cars and different brand vehicles.
He informed that last two events held in Hub Area were highly successful with big participation. He said that no entry fee is being charged from participants in any class.
He said last year drivers achieved an average speed of 150 KM on dirt track and some touched 200 KM at times.
“No compromise will be made on safety and security and no participant will be allowed to appear in the race without fulfilling safety requirements.
