Indian troops killed 156 Kashmiris in 2015: report


SRINAGAR: In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops in their unabated acts of state terrorism killed 13 Kashmiris, including a woman and a child in the last month of December.

According to the data issued by the Research Section of Kashmir Media Service on Friday, during the month, 126 people were critically injured when Indian police and paramilitary personnel used brute force against peaceful demonstrators in the occupied territory while 235 civilians, mostly Hurriyet leaders and youth, were arrested.

The troops destroyed 1 residential house, disgraced 1 woman and subjected 5 youth to custodial disappearance in December. On the other hand, during the year 2015, Indian troops killed 156 innocent Kashmiris including 13 teenagers and 4 women. According to the data, 12 of those martyred were killed in custody. The killings rendered 15 women widowed and 36 children orphaned.

8 Kashmiris went missing in custody after they were picked up by Indian forces’ personnel, while 38 women were disgraced or molested by the men in uniform during the year.

Meanwhile, since January 1989 till December 31, 2015, Indian troops martyred 94,296 innocent Kashmiris including 7,038 killed in fake encounters or in custody.
