KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah has said that Pakistan People’s Party had never supported terrorism and we were committed to restore law and order in Karachi.
Talking to media in Sukkur, he said that he was taken into confidence by Rangers in the arrest of Uzair Baloch.
He said that number of anti-terrorism courts in the province is being increased to ensure speedy trials.
The PPP is accused of supporting the Lyari Aman Committee, whose leader Uzair Baloch was arrested in Karachi on January 30 by the Rangers. However party leaders have denied any relations with Baloch.
In a separate statement on Sunday, opposition leader National Assembly, Khursheed Shah denied PPP’s relation with Baloch.
“The trend of selfie is viral among people, so it is not a big thing if Uzair is seen in pictures with politicians. It is difficult to figure out who is criminal and who is not. He was a wanted criminal who has been arrested,” he said while talking to media in Sukkur,” he said talking amount the pictures of PPP politicians posing with Uzair Baloch making the rounds on social media.
