Five facilitators behind Charsadda attack arrested: Asim Bajwa


PESHAWAR: Five facilitators behind Bacha Khan University, Charsadda, attack have been arrested, said Director General Inter Services Public Relations Lieutenant General Asim Bajwa on Saturday.

“The attackers were in contact with people in Afghanistan from where it was being controlled,” he said while sharing details with media about the progress in investigation of the Charsadda attack.

He said the attackers entered through Torkhem border to reach Mardan in guise of common citizens.

Bajwa said ten calls were made through Afghan SIMs from Afghanistan.

“A Pakistani reporter has also been spotted communicating with the terrorists in Afghanistan,” he said wihthout revealing name of the reporter.

Taliban have claimed responsibility for the attack during the conversation with the reporter. The terrorists called through this number 0093774021675.

The DG ISPR said four terrorists were on ground in the attack who were killed and four other facilitators were invovled.

He said this should be marked that it was not said at any moment that Afghan government was involved in this attack.

Bajwa said no call was recorded before the attack.

“We need to get united to foil terrorism bid. The purpose of terrorist is to spread panic and  terrorise people. We should not let them be successful in their this attempt,” he concluded the breifing.
