ISLAMABAD: Special pre-cautionary measures should be taken for Calligraphic and publishing expressions for printing correct Quran copies in the country, said Chairman Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) Maulana Muhammad Khan Shirani on Tuesday.
“Research work on Quran should be encouraged,” he said while addressing the inaugural session of 201st meeting of CII.
Earlier, Dr Qari Ahmed Thanvi informed the meeting that Dr Shifat Rabbani from Saudi Arabia in his report published last month pointed out that there were mistakes in Quran published by Taj Company.
If `Kitabat’ (hand script) is allowed, then the chances of mistakes would be high, he said, adding that in Saudi Arabia, one “Musaf” (manuscript) was prepared on which 18 scholars signed and they allowed to print its image.
The meeting was informed that according to 1973 constitution, the Quran published by Anjuman-a-Hamayat-e-Islam was authentic but Taj company Quran was being published in violation of constitution.
Later the issue of inclusion of ‘”Qadiani” in the agenda aggravated due to which the chair resorted to suspend the meeting.
