KARACHI: An alleged robber was torched to death while another injured by frenzied residents of Orangi Town here on Monday.
According to police and rescue sources, the two robbers were trying to flee from the scene after snatching money and valuables from citizens near Akbar Shaheed roundabout in Orangi Town; however they were caught up by the area residents, and torched them.
Both the accused were rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for treatment; however one of them succumbed to his injuries. The furious citizens also set their motorbike on fire. A man was injured in a clash that erupted between two groups in Old Subzi Mandi during early hours of Monday.
Meanwhile the area residents staged a demonstration protest against the growing ‘influence’ of drug peddlers and banned outfit groups in the area due to which the residents’ lives have become miserable.
