ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Asad Umar on Tuesday said the local bodies elections in seven union councils of Islamabad were rigged, hence those results would be challenged in court.
“However, Pakistan Muslim League-N has lost the LB polls despite rigging, pressurizing and threatening,” he said while talking to media after meeting with the successful chairmen and vice-chairmen.
Umar said 16 PTI candidates were successful. While, results of seven UCs were stopped. Had the results of the seven UCs were declared correct, the number of successful PTI candidates would be 23 and PML-N candidates 16. “We will contest for the seat of mayor.”
He also congratulated successful PTI candidates for ‘fighting like lions’.
