ISLAMABAD: Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah visited the Prime Minister to talk about the issue of empowering the Rangers in Karachi on Wednesday.
In the meeting that lasted for an hour the CM expressed his reservations with the operation saying the the in its garb the Pakistan People’s Party was being targetted.
The PM assured that the operation was not targeting any political party but was only a step towards assuring a peaceful Karachi.
While talking to the press after the meeting Qaim said that the Prime Minister had assured him that he was the captain of the operation.
“The Prime Minister assured me that the success of the Karachi Operation was because of the joint collaboration of the federal and provincial governments.”
Earlier this week on a brief visit to Karachi the PM had met Shah, who had claimed that the operation was targeting top leadership of the PPP.
On Sunday, Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari lashed out the federal government for using the National Action Plan to wipe out his party. He was addressing a rally at Garhi Khuda Bux for slain leader Benazir Bhutto’s death anniversary.
