WEB DESK: Nominated mayor of Karachi and Muttahida Qaumi Movement leader Wasim Akhtar on Saturday said if the powers of mayors were not given to him he would go to court and then public and he would not let the Sindh government sit at ease, Aaj News reported.
“The city has become piles of garbage with unclean water and old transport. Mass transit system is need of the city and we will work on it,” he said while talking to AAJ Rana Mubashir Kay Sath.
Wasim Akhtar said more work was needed to establish peace in Karachi.
“We will go to courts and according to article section 140(a) we will take the powers, and if not given we will go to the public, We have got mandate but no powers’.
He said all the political and religious parties were with MQM.
