ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Thursday ruled out presence of Blackwater or any foreign intelligence agency in Islamabad and said no foreign security agency was allowed to operate within the country.
“Terrorists are on the run as a result of massive interaction among interior ministry, law enforcement agencies, provincial governments and military,” he said while speaking in the National Assembly.
Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said strict action had been taken to curb corruption in the ministry of interior.
He said thousands of officials of civil armed forces had been withdrawn from VVIP security and placed them to protect lives of the common citizens.
Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Shaikh Aftab Ahmad said funds have been allocated for the construction of various roads under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
He said Lahore-Karachi Motorway will be completed in 30 months at a cost of Rs680 billion.
Replying to a calling attention notice, Parliamentary Secretary for Finance Rana Muhammad Afzal Khan said Pakistan’s economy was one of the emerging economies of the world.
He said foreign exchange reserves, banking and energy sectors are showing improvement and inflation is going down.
He said the government has passed on maximum benefits of decline in oil prices to the consumers.
