KARACHI: A meeting between Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff Raheel Sharif is underway at the Governor House, where important details about the city’s security situation and extension of the Rangers powers will be discussed.
The army chief lauded the Rangers, intelligence agencies and other law enforcement agencies for “noticeable improvement” in the security situation in Karachi through ongoing operations and the peaceful conduct during local government elections held in the cities on Saturday, an Aaj News correspondent said.
The Prime Minister said that the operation will continue in the city till complete peace is restored.
The meeting is being attended by DG Rangers Major General Bilal, the ISI chief, Sindh Governor Ishrat ul Ebad and Chief Minister Sindh Qaim Ali Shah.
