LAHORE: Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif on Monday said national interests should be given priority over vested interests.
“The government attaches priority to the national interest instead of politics,” he said while addressing the ceremony held in connection with the 43rd martyrdom day of Khawaja Muhammad Rafique in Lahore.
The minister said democracy had been strengthened during the past two and a half years of the present government.
He lauded army, rangers and police for rendering valuable sacrifices for peace in Karachi.
He said peace in Balochistan was the achievement of the Baloch leaders.
Khawaja Asif said Pakistan Muslim League-N has confidence of the people and the journey of national development will continue.
