KARACHI: Gohar Hafeez of Lahore has been named to lead a 15-member Pakistan squad in the ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup to be held in Bangladesh from January 22 to February 14, 2016, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Friday.
Team was named after approval of PCB head Shaharyar Muhammad Khan on the recommendation from Junior Selection committee headed by former Test batsman Basit Ali.
Team will also participate in the tri-series tournament being held at United Arab Emirates before Under-19 World Cup. Former Test paceman Zakir Khan will be manager of the team while Muhammad Masoor will be head coach.
Gohar Hafeez (Lahore- Captain), Muhammad Umar Burki (FATA), Zeeshan Malik (Rawalpindi – Vice Captain), Hasan Mohsin (Karachi), Muhammad Asad (Karachi), Saif Badar (Sialkot), Hasan Khan (Karachi), Salman Fayyaz (Lahore) Shadab Khan (Rawalpindi), Umair Masood (Rawalpindi), Saif Ali Ghauri (Karachi), Arfan Liaqat (Multan), Sameen Gul (FATA), Muhammad Arsal Shaikh (Islamabad), Muhammad Ahmad Shafiq(Lahore).
Reserves: Rizwan Ali (Islamabad), Ali Zaryab (Lahore), Aqib Jadoon (Abbottabad), Hamza Khan (Peshawar), Hayatullah (FATA).
Team Management: Zakir Khan (Manager), Muhammad Masroor (Head Coach), Muhammad Tayyab (Physio), Muhammad Talah Ejaz (Analyst), Saboor Ahmad (Trainer).
Besides the squad, five-member team mnagement and five standbys were also named.
