The polling process went smooth largely, however some mishaps were reported.
In one such incident a man, Raja Shoaib, nephew of former law minister Punjab, succumbed to his injuries after rival political party workers clashed in UC-83 Rawalpindi.
In another incident, two policemen were injured in Gulzar-e-Hijri area after unknown men opened fire, Karachi.
Meanwhile, there were reports of scuffles in Landhi, Malir, Lyari and other parts of the city. Law enforcement agencies intervened immediately and brought the situation under control.
MQM leader Farooq Sattar accused in a press conference that their returning officers were not allowed in 25 polling stations.
Voters turned up in large numbers at polling stations to use their right of franchise in some districts it reached even 50 percent. Mismanagement and delay was faced at many polling stations.

In Punjab, polling was held in Layyah, Rajanpur, D G Khan, Muzaffargarh, Rawalpindi, Jhang, Khushab, Multan, Sialkot, Narowal, Rahim Yar Khan and Bahawalpur districts.
In Sindh, polling was held in Karachi West, Karachi East, Karachi South, Karachi Central, Korangi and Malir.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had established a control room in Islamabad to receive complaints regarding irregularities in the polling process where 146 complaints were received.
Meanwhile, strict security arrangements had been made to maintain law and order and avoid any untoward incident in the districts where polling was taking place.
A force of 35,057 policemen and 7,400 Rangers provided security to polling stations in Karachi. While, Pakistan Army also deployed 10 companies.
Inspector General Sindh Police Ghulam Haider Jamali has said that overall election process in Karachi was peaceful.
Talking to media after visiting various polling stations in Karachi, he said he along with his team reached where any complain of any untoward incident was reported.
