“The other film is also made by friends. Our genre is more family and happy-go-lucky kind. Their genre is niche and historical. For both films, audience will come in at different time and watch it. Both are really nice movies”, SRK said at the musical celebrations of Dilwale.
Disagreeing with SRK’s statement, Deepika Padukone said, “I wouldn’t call Bajirao Mastani niche. One of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s strength is that in a film like ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ or a film like ‘Devdas’ or ‘Ram Leela’ or ‘Black’, he has his way of storytelling but still makes it globally appealing. I don’t know what SRK meant when he said niche but what I can say is both are very different films. I have worked with both directors and they have different things to offer. You can’t compare the two.”
“I agree that audiences will take time out to watch both films. Even I would watch both films as audience. While on one hand people are trying to create controversy around two films releasing on the same day, I am someone who looks at it the other way in the sense that I get to watch two films that are so unique.”, she further added.
