PARACHINAR: At least 22 people have been killed and around 70 injured in a bomb blast in Tall Adda market, Parachinar, on Sunday, Aaj News reported.
Security forces have cordoned off the area and the injured are being admitted to hospital for medical assistance. Two suspects have been held by the security forces from location of the incident.
Eight people are critically injured, while as many children are also included in injured people.
Local administration has announced Rs0.3 million for the heirs of each dead victim.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has condemned the Parachinar blast.
In his message, he expressed grief over the loss of life and property and commiserated with the bereaved families.
The prime minister directed to provide special medical care to the injured.
Nawaz Sharif said our resolve to eradicate the menace of terrorism was getting stronger with the loss of innocent lives and sacrifices of army and law enforcement agencies.
