KARACHI: Pakistan International Airline Spokesman Danyal Gilani on Thursday said in an effort to further expand the fleet and induct more fuel efficient aircraft under PIA’s revival strategy, the national airlines had added another Boeing 777-200 ER aircraft to its range.
“With the addition of this aircraft, which arrived at the Jinnah International Airport, the total number of aircraft in PIA’s fleet has risen to 38,” he told Aaj.tv website.
Chairman PIA said that it was for the first time in the history of PIA that a series of modern aircraft had been added to the national flag carrier’s fleet in such a short period of time. He said that induction of the incoming aircraft would further improve the national airline’s passenger carrying capacity.
The aircraft, to be used for both long and short haul flights, would start operating after completion of all formalities later this month.
