Chand Nawab was always a local celebrity. His video blooper where he tries to make an Eid news package at a railway station went viral on the internet.

The reporter lost his job after the video was leaked. Only this year when he went to the railway station for a news package he was beaten up by the staff.
This clip, has been shown in universities across the globe in different languages to teach students how much pressure an on-field journalist faces.
At the Karachi Press Club, where he was a frequent visitor journalists would laugh at his back. But all of this changed when his character became an inspiration for Nawazzuddin Siddiqui, who played the role of a journalist in Salman Khan starrer Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
People suddenly started taking him seriously. And he received a flood of friend requests on Facebook. So much so that he eventually had to make a fan page.
Kabir Khan director of Bajrangi Bhaijaan, promised him a royalty. And as hype for the video increased— he began receiving interview phone calls from national and international media.
In an interview to Aaj.tv, Nawab said that he started receiving job offers and roles in TV commercials from various TV channels and companies after release of that film.
“That film completely turned over my life. Accolades started showering on me from around the world. I have now worked in few commercials and TV dramas as well. I have on offer TV commercials and roles in Indian movies to perform very soon,” he said.
Talking about his personal life, he said he had four children and his wife, a physician, had died.
He said he had no intention to marry any other woman as he still loved his wife and regularly visited her grave in the night to offer prayers for her. “I have never been disappointed of my life. However, the position I have gained now is all by the grace of Almighty Allah.”
Chand eventually got a job in a leading news channel. This year was probably the happiest for Chand Nawab.
