WEB DESK: Batsman Umar Akmal has been dropped out of the Twenty20 squad and issued a show cause notice, Aaj News reported.
He will not play in the Twenty20 squad for the series against England in the UAE.
Akmal was attending a dance party in Hyderabad without prior permission from the authorities. A raid by the police on Wednesday night resulted in the arrest of three cricketers including Akmal.
“Umar Akmal had been pencilled in for selection, but he has subsequently been dropped on instructions from the Board, as he has been issued with a show cause notice for bringing PCB and Pakistan Cricket into disrepute.” chief selector Haroon Rashid said, ESPN reported.
On February 1, 2014, Umar Akmal came in the news for slapping a traffic police officer. He was released on Rs100,000 bail later.
