Teenage worker survives Lahore factory collapse

LAHORE: The rescuers have pulled a youngster from under the rubble of a factory that collapsed at the Sundar Industrial Estate near Lahore who survived miraculously after a long span of about 50 hours of the fatal incident.

The teenager,18,was identified as Shahid and immediately shifted  to Jinnah Hospital after being rescued on Friday evening.

DCO Lahore said that the the teenager has sustained injuries on his leg. He added that Shahid crawled out of the debris on his own.

The DCO went on to say that around 38  bodies of labourers have been recovered so far from under the debris.

He expressed hope that more workers could be pulled out alive, therefore, the rubble was being cleared cautiously.

According to rescue officials, over hundred survivors had so far been retrieved from the wreckage of the four-storeyed Rajput Polyester factory,about 45 km south of Lahore on Wednesday night.
