PTI, JI flex muscles before local bodies elections in Karachi

KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Jamaat-e-Islami exhibited full political power today by carrying out joint rally in the city.

The workers of PTI ended the rally at Hassan Square, while JI reached at Quaid’s Mausoleum to finally call it a day.

PTI Chief Imran Khan said the demand of minus-Altaf was not foreign but from inside of Muttahida Qaumi Movement.

“I sighted first MQM congregation where no picture of MQM Chief Altaf Hussain could be seen, neither any speech was heard,” he said after both the political party leaders reached at Star Gate after they were welcomed and greeted at airport then escorted with the rally.

Khan said he would rectify police of Karachi first after getting into power. Terrorism would remain no more, if police became apolitical.

Ameer JI Sirajul Haq said 5 December would be the day of revolution and change in Karachi. He expressed commitment to make Karachi an exemplary city in Islamic world.

“This time election would be held in the city not selection,” he said.
