FAISALABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-N won four seats of UC 1,2,3,4 while independent panel won seat in UC 5 in the local bodies elections held on October 31, in the district.
According to un-official result, the panel of PML-N backed candidates Malik Shamshair Khan (chairman) and Nawab Atif Zaman (vice chairman) defeated the PTI backed panel of Aashiq Hussain (chairman) and Zahoor Ahmed (vice chairman) in union council-1. The PML-N candidates obtained 3934 votes while PTI candidates could secure 2122 votes.
In UC-2, the panel of PML-N backed candidates Muhammad Ashraf Nagra (chairman) and Haji Pervez Iqbal Cheema (vice chairman) secured 2149 votes and declared successful.
Their rival panel was Malik Irshad Hussain Awan (chairman) and Chaudhry Muhammad Aslam Nagra (vice chairman) of PTI which could obtain 1798 votes.
In UC-3, the panel of PML-N backed candidates Nasir Mehmood Bhatta (chairman) and Chaudhry Muhammad Ilyas Khera (vice chairman) secured 2851 votes and declared successful.
Their rival candidates (Ind) Muhammad Imran (chairman) and Ijaz Hussain (vice chairman) could bag 2538 votes.
In UC-4, the panel of PML-N backed candidates Rab Nawaz Khan (chairman) and Zafar Iqbal (vice chairman) defeated PTI backed candidates Chaudhry Ghulam Hussain Bhatti (chairman) and Malik Mansab Ali Khichi (vice chairman).
The PML-N candidates obtained 3714 votes while their rival panel secured 1353 votes.
In UC-5, the panel of independent candidates Muhammad Afzal (chairman) and Talib Hussain (vice chairman) won election by obtaining 2867 votes while their rival panel bagged 2864 votes.
