MALTA: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his British counterpart David Cameron held meeting on the sidelines of Commonwealth Heads of Government Summit in Malta.
The two leaders exchanged views on regional and international situation as well as different aspects of bilateral relations. They also discussed Afghan situation.
The prime minister said Pakistan considered the United Kingdom a close friend and a dependable partner.
“There is need for closer cooperation among member states of Commonwealth in the backdrop of multi-dimensional challenges,” he said.
Nawaz Sharif said Pakistan attached special significance to its relations with Commonwealth.
The prime minister was accompanied by his Advisor on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz and Special Assistant on Foreign Affairs Syed Tariq Fatemi.
