WEB DESK: Doctors and nurses of the Lady Reading Hospital(LRH) Peshawar continued their protest for the third day in a row on Wednesday, demanding action against torture of paramedics, Aaj News reported.
The doctors said that the hospital authorities had lashed them and threatened them during a clash. They urged the provincial government to ensure stern action against the culprits.
Meanwhile, the patients also staged a protest against doctors for boycotting the OPDs and obstructed the main road outside the hospital that disrupted traffic flow.
Earlier on Monday, paramedics staged a protest against the alleged occupation on hostel by the doctors.
The protesters while holding placards demonstrated outside the administration block and proceeded towards the hostel to evacuate it from the doctors on which the situation took a fierce turn.
Police officials reached the site to seal the hospital.
The arguments turned into a brawl, prompting police to intervene and baton-charge the protesters. At least six paramedics and a doctor were injured in the scuffles that broke out in the wake of disagreement.
