No electronic voting machines for 2018

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan has refused to use an electronic voting machine for the general election of 2018, Aaj News reported.

In a meeting held to improve voting practices today, the ECP said that in countries where the electronic machine was being used several problems were surfacing. As a result those countries were also reverting to the ballot system.

The ECP has submitted their decision to the parliament.

Independent analysts said that to install voting machines billions of rupees would be spent. Each voting machine costs about $100.
