MANCHESTER: Journalists should treat news as news and stop attacking personal life, said Reham Khan, in a conference held in Manchester on Wednesday.
In her first public appearance after her divorce with Imran Khan, Reham said that with stories that attack personal lives, “you may be able to hit a sixer, but a partnership which results in a century will not be possible”.
She was possibly hinting at Arif Nizami, a journalist who first broke the story of their marriage and then their divorce.
She said that she was proud to be a journalist, and she would continue her affiliation with the Pakistani media.
Reham and Imran Khan divorced each other last week, after a short marriage of 10 months.
The two initially rejected reports of their divorce which appeared in the media, but in a sudden announcement on Friday, tweeted their decisions.
Reham is currently in the United Kingdom, attending a conference.
