JPNA overrides Choorian’s record

WEB DESK: Jawani Phir Nahi Ani becomes the highest grossing Pakistani film, breaking Syed Noor’s film Choorian’s 17 year-old record, stated Box Office Detail.

The film has earned over $4.4 million worldwide, leaving Choorian behind which made a revenue of $4.4 million back then.

Few films in the past did leave Choorian behind in terms of Pakistani rupees, but no one could earn close to the Punjabi film in terms of US dollars.

JPNA reached the milestone with limited screens and shows as compared to Choorian because in 1998 films enjoyed more number of screens and shows.

The credit of JPNA’s success goes to the director Nadeem Baig, the talented cast, and above all to writer, Vasay Chaudhry for penning a good script.

Chaudhry was the first cast member to tweet about the achievement.

JPNA earlier became the first film to reach the three crore mark in just three weeks. It has earned over $3.69 million in Pakistan, $0.28 million in the USA, $0.26 million in the UK and $0.175 million in the UAE.

The film hasn’t been released in India yet. If that happens, JPNA might surpass the fifty crore mark soon.
