LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party head Imran Khan has announced that he will hold intra-party elections, saying, “We will learn from our mistakes we made in the past elections.” Imran Khan addressing a youth convention jointly organised by the Insaf Youth Wing, Imran Tigers Force and Insaf Students Federation, on Wednesday, also said if people never raised their voices against the corrupt and the unjust, the system would never change.
Punjab-based Organiser Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar was also present. He claimed that the ruling party had been in power for decades but they had done nothing for the betterment of people, and in the future they would also do nothing. “People have to struggle for their rights and without it they will get nothing,” he said.
He also said, “The party will raise its voice against every injustice. We will make party an institution and formidable. We will start making Pakistan a welfare state beginning from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.”
He then accused the Punjab and Sindh governments of using police for their personal interests and wasting one billion rupees in planting trees in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to save the environment from pollution.
He said 22 parties talked about rigging in the 2013 general elections but it was only his party which did so in bringing culprits before the court of law. ‘The party wants to make a new Pakistan according to the teachings and philosophy of Quaid-i-Azam and Allama Iqbal.”
