ABIDJAN: Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif on Friday visited Ivory Coast and spent day with Pakistan Army contingent deployed there under the United Nations flag.
He paid rich tribute to Pak troops for their professionalism and commitment to bring stability and to promote peace for a secure world.
“Pakistan is committed to meet emerging challenges of peace-keeping operations,” he said.
Sharif said Pakistan was proud of its historic role as major contributor to peacekeeping operation in Ivory Coast.
He said being one of the leading troops and contributors, Pakistani troops were currently engaged in six UN missions, other than ongoing operation Zarb-e-Azb.
