ISLAMABAD: Defence Minister, Khawaja Muhammad Asif said on Wednesday that Pakistan Navy’s major maritime exercise ‘Sea Spark 2015’ provided an impetus to the country’s resolve of maintaining peace, security and stability in the region.
Pakistan, he said, lies at a strategic position in the region which gives it access to major sea routes thereby enhancing the importance of Pakistan Navy manifold.
“By the grace of Allah Almighty, We are today in a position to deter any aggression at sea,” he made these remarks while speaking at the culmination ceremony of the exercise in Karachi.
The exercise commenced in the North Arabian Sea aimed at enhancing and assessing the operational and war preparedness of Pakistan Navy.
Along with Pakistan Navy, Pakistan Air Force and Pakistan Army also participated in the exercise providing an opportunity to validate the joint war fighting concepts.
The Defense Minister said it gave him immense pleasure to witness Pakistan Navy war exercise,
“I am proud to state that our Armed Forces are fully equipped not only operationally but bear the capacity to outdo the enemy at any level,” he added.
