SIALKOT: Six persons including four members of a family were injured seriously by unprovoked heavy mortar shelling by Indian Border Security Forces (BSF) in Shakargarh Sector of Sialkot Working Boundary on Saturday late night.
According to the senior officials of the Punjab Rangers, people were sleeping in their homes, when the Indian BSF resorted to unprovoked heavy mortar shelling on Sialkot border villages in Shakargarh Sector.
The Indian BSF again targeted the civilian population with small and heavy weapons in Sialkot border villages.
According to a spokesperson of the Punjab Rangers, the Punjab Rangers responded befittingly, making the Indian guns silent.
Sialkot border villages Sugmaal, Kothey Chak, Mallu Chak,Boorey Chak, Bhopalpur, Agor, Lambriyaal, Saambli, Makkuwal,Mangu Chak and Chattar were badly hit by Indian BSF heavy mortar shelling.
In village Sugmaal, four persons of a family Muhammad Ashraf (45), Hameeda Bibi (55), their young daughter Rashida Bibi (27 years old) and son Sajid Haider Ali (20) were injured seriously. They were sleeping in their house, when some heavy mortar shells fired by Indian BSF hit their house. Their three buffaloes were killed in the shelling.
In village Mallu Chak, two persons Abdul Jabbar and Abdul Sattar were injured by unprovoked intensified heavy mortar shelling. They were also sleeping in their houses, when some Indian mortar shells hit their houses, injuring them seriously.
The injured were shifted to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Sialkot, where the condition of Muhammad Ashraf and Hameeda Bibi was stated to be critical.
Several cattle were also killed by Indian BSF shelling.
