WEB DESK: The rupee managed to recover slightly against the dollar on the money market on Tuesday in the process of trading, dealers said. The rupee inched up by one paisa against the dollar for buying at Rs 104.41 and it also gained two-paisa for selling at Rs 104.42, they said.
INTERBANK MARKET RATES: OPEN MARKET RATES: The rupee also picked up five-paisa in relation to the dollar for buying and selling at Rs 104.45 and Rs 104.65 respectively, however it lost 50-paisa in terms of the euro for buying and selling at Rs 118.50 and Rs 119.50, they added.
In the second Asian trade, the dollar held firm against the euro after marking a 10-day high ahead of this week’s European Central Bank meeting, which some investors believe could set the stage for additional stimulus later this year. The euro edged slightly down against the dollar in early Asian trading to $1.1325, after dropping as low as $1.1306 on Monday.
The dollar was trading against the Indian rupee at Rs 64.93, the greenback was available at 4.2500 versus the Malaysian ringgit and the US currency was at 6.352 in relation to the Chinese yuan. Interbank buy/sell rates for the taka against the dollar on Tuesday: 77.80-77.80 (previous 77.80-77.80.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee staged recovery and gained 10-paisa in relation to the greenback on the local currency market on Tuesday.
The currency dealers said that the dollar resumed trading on negative sign and remained under pressure. At close of trading, the dollar ended lower at Rs 104.60 and Rs 104.85 on buying and selling side against Rs 104.70 and Rs 104.95 of Monday, respectively.
However, the rupee maintained downward slide for the second consecutive day and registered decline against the British pound that was traded at Rs 161.00 and Rs 161.70 on buying and selling counter compared with the overnight closing of Rs 160.60 and Rs 161.20, respectively, the dealers added.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The rupee-dollar parity remained unchanged at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Tuesday.
The dollar opened at Rs 104 (buying) and Rs 104.25 (selling) against same last rate. It did not observe further change in the second session and closed at Rs 104 (buying) and Rs 104.25 (selling). Pound Sterling opened at Rs 158 (buying) and Rs 158.50 (selling) against same overnight value. It did not observe further change in the evening session and closed at Rs 158 (buying) and Rs 158.50 (selling).
