WEB DESK: Oscar winning documentary maker Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy doesn’t fail to impress. Her documentary A Girl in the River: The Price of Forgiveness has been shortlisted for the 88th Academy Award in the category of Best Documentary – Short Subject.
It has been nominated with other nine documentaries. The documentary is a joint production of Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy (SOC) Films and Home Box Office (HBO). It follows the life of an 18-year-old girl who is a survivor of an honour killing attempt.
The film is set to air on HBO next year. The list of the category is as follows
