WEB DESK: Actor Sidharth Malhotra spoke up in support of his Kapoor & Sons’s co-star Fawad Khan, amidst the tension caused by Shiv Sena’s controversy seeking a ban on Pakistani artists performing in Maharashtra, The Indian Express reported.
Sidharth reportedly said that creativity transcends borders. “Everybody has the freedom to work. He has been working with us for a while now. I believe creativity crosses border,” he told reporters at the inauguration ceremony of the 17th Jio MAMI Mumbai International Film Festival.
Lately, Shiv Sena had said that it would ban Pakistani actors, cricketers or performers in Maharashtra.
The party sets its first target on Pakistani actors Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan,who are currently shooting their upcoming ventures in India, because it believes Pakistani actors are trying to gain a foothold in Bollywood.
Meanwhile, Sidharth also lauded Alia Bhatt’s latest movie, “Shaandaar”, despite the film turning into a flop at the box-office.
‘’I saw ‘Shaandaar’ and I loved it. It’s a great film,” he said.“Shandaar” also starred Shahid Kapoor and father Pankaj Kapur.
