FAISALABAD: on the direction of Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, monitoring of security arrangement made for maintaining peace and harmony on Muharram-ul-Haraam is continuing and law enforcement agencies are vigilant in this regard.
This was stated by members of monitoring team – Secretary Population Welfare Punjab Altaf Ezid Khan and DIG Traffic Rana Muhammad Iqbal – while reviewing the arrangements made in District Control Room at DCO Office, here on Thursday.
ADC Kanwar Ijaz Khaliq, DOC Sabba Adil and other officers were also present on the occasion.
The team monitored Muharram processions and Majalis through CCTV cameras and directed the officers to perform duty carefully and keep eye on suspected persons.
ADC Kanwar Ijaz Khalid informed the team that staff of Rescue 1122, Police, Civil Defense, Health, TMAs, Sui Gas, FESCO, PTCL and other departments concerned would remain present in the Control Room in three shifts.
He said that control room had been set up at clock tower Chowk to provide first aid to mourners and it was connected with central control room.
Later, monitoring team visited central Imam Bargah Dhobi Ghat, Clock Tower Chowk, Imam Bargah Haideria Ameenpur Bazaar, Peoples Colony and checked security arrangements there.
