WEB DESK: A Russian scientist claims he has found the secret to longer life.
Anatoli Brouchkov, head of the Geocryology Department at Moscow State University, injected himself with a 3.5-million-year-old virus called Bacillus F.
He claims he can now work longer, and has not had flu for over two years.
The virus has survived in the environment for millions of years.
Initially, the experiment was tested on mice. And it made female mice reproduce even when they had gotten too old to have babies. He suspects the bacteria could hold key to fertility.
After successful experiments on mice, he decided to become part of the experiment. He doesn’t know what the virus is doing to him, but he says it has made him powerful.
“The bacteria emits a biologically active substance which improves the immune system.”
If the same substance were to be given to people, it could cause a significant improvement in their health, leading to the discovery of an ‘elixir of life’, said Dr Chernyavsky.
The bacteria was discovered in 2009 by Dr Anatoli Brouchkov, head of the Geocryology Department of Moscow State University.
For now ‘we cannot understand the mechanism, but we see the impact’.
