KARACHI: Dr. Mushtaq Solangi, Coordinator, Dengue Surveillance Cell here on Friday reported death of the sixth dengue hemorrhagic fever in the province, Aaj News reported.
According to the reports, a twenty year old man, Abdul Ghafoor s/o Muhammad is the latest victim of the otherwise self limiting dengue fever,
“Abdul Ghafoor died at Civil Hospital – Karachi this morning,” said the official mentioning that the deceased was a resident of Muach Goth.
He was said to had been admitted to the hospital with profuse bleeding and high fever.
In reply to a question, Dr. Solangi said 2,258 patients were reported to be inflicted with the condition during the current year from across the province.
He said the health department realizing its responsibilities has not only embarked upon awareness sessions but all government hospitals have also been provided with diagnostic kits to ensure timely diagnosis of the ailment.
Moreover, Dr. Solangi said KMC has also enhanced fumigation activities across the metropolis.
