LAHORE: The Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf has written a letter to the Election Commission of Pakistan accusing Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz of violating the election code of conduct, Aaj News reported.
On behalf of PTI-Chief Imran Khan, Shireen Mazari, wrote a letter to the ECP complaining of a number of election advertisements PML-N had placed in newspapers after the campaign period had officially ended.
The PML-N’s Saad Rafique was also accused of announcing new housing schemes for railway workers on Thursday, during a speech.
Mazari asked the ECP to intervene to prevent further violation by PML-N.
By-polls are expected to be held in NA-122, Lahore, on October 11.
In August, the ECP de-seated NA-122 candidate Ayaz Sadiq from PML-N, after elections were declared rigged in the constituency. PTi’s Aleem Dar is contesting the elections during the by-polls.
