PESHAWAR/LAHORE: A powerful 8.1 magnitude earthquake which rocked parts of South Asia killed 280 people Monday. The quake, which lasted at least one minute, shook buildings in Kabul, Islamabad and New Delhi, Aaj News reported.
The tremors were also felt in Azad Kashmir.
At least 1,800 more were injured and hundreds of homes destroyed as the quake shook a swathe of the subcontinent, sending thousands of frightened people rushing into the streets in Pakistan, Afghanistan, and India.
