KARACHI: The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Sindh, Ghulam Haider Jamali, has directed that every available Resource, manpower and logistics should be utilized for concrete and effective security measures at every level for Muharram.
In a statement here on Wednesday he also called for advance intelligence collection, surveillance and intelligence gathering in collaboration with other organizations.
The IGP said that there should be picketing at all the important and sensitive points.
He further directed that there should be appropriate arrangements for the screening of the route of the mourning processions, buildings in the area and there be strict monitoring.
The IGP also instructed that central command and control center be monitored by senior police officials.
The IGP was informed that from first to 10th of Moharram, there will be a total of 4,951 Majalis and 959 mourning processions would be taken out in various zones in Karachi.
The IGP directed that every possible security steps be undertaken for foolproof security and for additional police force the Sindh Reserve Force be put on alert.
He instructed that an effective traffic plan be also chalked out for the Muharram.
