Rumours were all over the place that Mahira and SRK-starrer Raees and Salman’s Sultan were going to clash on Eid next year. Farhan Akhtar,Raees producer, confirmed them lately.
According to DNA India, Farhan is not at all worried about the clash, claiming that big productions have in the past been released on the same day as well.
“That has happened in the past when there have been two big releases on the same day and both of them have done well. So this depends on the audience. We leave it to them to decide,” he was quoted as saying.
He further said that it’s the right of a filmmaker to release a film on the selected date. “The fact is when you make a film and you want to release it on a certain date, you have the right to.”
There are chances that the box office might not scour in the same numbers and the revenue might get split up between the two going to be released films but Farhan contradicts with this.
Farhan said,“I would rather hope that both of them will have enough followers and admirers to watch both the films.”
He further explained that if you are making a good film, it will flourish in cinemas no matter which film it’s colliding with.
“If both Raees and Sultan turn out to be good films, both will do equally well at the box office,” he added.
Farhan is determined in his decision to release the film on the scheduled date and is not at all considering any change in the release date of his film.
“I don’t see the reason why I need to do that, honestly!” he said adamantly.
Both “Raees” and “Sultan” are set to release on Eid next year.
