KARACHI: Police arrested two terrorists belonging to banned outfit Hizbul Tahrir and Al-Qaeda late Tuesday night, Aaj News reported.
Muhammad Ovais Raheel was arrested from Boat Basin, Clifton area. Raheel was affiliated to Hizbut Tahrir, a banned group which aims to bring back the Caliphate, Incharge CID Mazhar Mashwani said.
Raheel had graduated from NED University and had later done his MBA from the Institute of Business Administration. He is currently an employee of a private university.
Police recovered Jihadi literature and pamphlets from Raheel.
He had joined Hizbut Tahrir in 2007, and his job was to distribute pamphlets at mosques at posh localities like Defence and Clifton, BBC Urdu reported.
Earlier, Saad Aziz, a graduate of IBA was arrested by CID. Aziz confessed to Sabeen Mahmud’s murder and the Safoora Bus attack, which killed over 40 citizens.
In a separate incident, police arrested Amir was arrested from a truck stand in Mauripur. Amir was wanted for eight murders.
