WEB DESK: World renowned philanthropist and co-founder of Microsoft, Bill Gates was born today. In 1999, Bill Gates wrote a book titled Business @ the Speed of Thought in which he made 15 predictions about the future that are true today. Here are five predictions he made.
Bill Gates predicted that ‘automated price comparison services will be deployed, allowing people to see prices across multiple websites, making it effortless to find the cheapest product in the industry.
Today example: Google, Amazon or Alibaba.
Gates predicted ‘people will carry around devices that allow them to constantly stay in touch and do electronic business from everywhere they are.’
Today: You know we have smart phones.
He speculated people will pay their bills, take care of their finances, and commute to doctors over the internet.
“Constant video feed of your house will become common, which inform you when somebody visits while you are not home’’ said Gates in his book.
Today: Although it is not a very common sight in Pakistan, we surely know this is possible.
“Private website for your friends and family will be common, allowing you to chat and plan for events,” mentioned Gates.
