ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has filed a reference against the owner of Royal Foundry for electricity theft of Rs 26.4 million.
Imran, the owner of Royal Foundry, has stolen electricity in connivance with the officials of Tribal Electric Supply Company (TESCO).
The NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has already apprehended the Foundry’s owner, said a NAB press release on Tuesday.
The Royal Foundry is situated in Shahkas area of Khyber Agency (FATA).
Initially the case was taken up by Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) but due to jurisdiction issues, it was referred to the NAB for further investigation.
The NAB had constituted a technical committee to investigate the electricity theft and it was revealed that the TESCO officials had supplied electricity to the Foundry from the grid station meant for general consumers of FATA.
The accused Imran along with TESCO accused persons caused a loss of approximately Rs 26.4 million to the national exchequer.
